New boy - Dentonlad
on: October 20, 2013, 09:06:17 PM
Hello everybody. Thanks for having me. I am a 54 year old who passed his test in April this year.  Having previously ridden in my teens I never took my test and always regretted it.  Having been lucky enough to inherit some money a couple of years ago I was finally able to do my CBT and buy a 125 (a Varadero). 14 months of riding through a dreadful summer gave me enough confidence to do my DAS.

On passing I bought a new NC700X, shortly followed by a 1998 Suzuki GSX600F (currently shoved at the back of the garage requiring a good service and a new battery) and an '07 CBF 1000 (Mk 1). Good as the CBF is, it's that that is being traded in against the new Crosstourer.

I pick the bike up tomorrow afternoon.  It's the dealers demo bike which, whilst it was registered in March this year, has only done 300 miles. At £8995 I figured it was a bit of a bargain when compared to the other bikes I'd considered (Tiger, Multistrada and GS). Initial fears that it would be too tall and too heavy for me (I'm 5'8" with a 29" inside leg) were dispelled when I rode it. Trickled through traffic, low speed manoeuvres were fine and then on the open road it was awesome.

I look forward to getting to know it better.

:400: and i bet it was Doble's you bought it from.

You are the same as me 50 years off a bike back on a Triumph Tiger Explorer and then found Honda and the DCT all bikes should have them, fantastic.

Anyway enjoy and when you switch to the DCT you will have wished you had done it first time  :008:

A manual silver, couldn't be any better. Great choice and definitely a bargain, get ready to spend any spare cash on all the extras available. Enjoy the site too.
 :400: BTW
I love talking about nothing. It is the only thing I know anything about.

Welcome to CT ownership. Like you I've also got a silver manual bike and I love it! Also used to own a mark 1 CBF1000, great bikes but the CT is even better.
