Bonnie Scotland - Sunny day! Canna beat it.
on: September 04, 2013, 01:40:28 PM
Just thought I would report about a wee hurl my friend and I did on Monday.
Left Peterhead on a sunny day (it stayed like that the whole day)
Went the following route:
Peterhead
Turrif
Keith
Granton on Spey
Forres
Nairn
Granton on Spey (stopped for a bacon roll and coffee)
Tomintoul
Over the Lecht to Braemar
Out the Glenshee road for a bit and turned back at the ski centre
Back in to Braemar
Ballater
Aboyne
Torphins
Kintore
Oldmeldrum and home from there. 315 miles and back home for supper:)

It was a cracking day with some quick riding. My pal on the Speed Triple was surprised at the CT when I gave him a swap for a few miles. He reckons it is quite fast and more than capable of a good 'blast' as well as a slower tour type ride.
I was keeping up with him on his Speed Triple no problem in the twisties :)
Get Scotland on a good day and the riding is hard to beat.
Photo on the Lecht road.
What do you mean it's raining....get ootside and ride the thing.

It was a cracking day. I had some vids as well but I can't seem to get them uploaded.

Ok, the sun only showed up for a few minutes now and then. But as the weather is nearly tropical today (13c) . Due to a bit of a downpour over the last few days, there is no salt on the roads. So todays run was up to Inveraray, over to Dalmally, Tyndrum , Callander, Stirling, and then to the Honda dealer in Grangemouth, who did my first 600 mile service while I waited. What a great day on a great machine.

Good effort for December, it is pretty mild though  :031:
