DinoSauro checking in from Milan
on: July 15, 2013, 06:55:19 PM
Hi all

I've just pulled the trigger on a new Crosstourer DCT, which I'll be picking up from the dealer next week. It's my very first Honda m/c and I look forward to riding it on my favorite twisty roads.

I live in Milan, i.e. about 90 minutes from the nearest Swiss pass and about 2 hours from a mind-boggling range of classic motorcycle roads.

Just about three weeks ago, a riding buddy who owns a Crosstourer let me ride it on our way to the Gran Paradiso Nat'l Park (see piccie taken at elevation 2,600 m) and the next thing I knew I was hooked.  :152:

As my forum handle says, I'm a - uh - mature rider with 30+ years in the saddle and I'm sure I'll love this bike.
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Welcome from the UK  :400:

that picture is awesome, does the road take you up to that point or was some walking/climbing involved?

Thanks all, the picture was taken from an overlook at Nivolet Pass http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colle_del_Nivolet. The road (recently resurfaced) climbs all the way to the pass then winds its way down to another Alpine lake a mile or so downhill where it ends. As the crow flies, the pass is roughly a mile from the Italian-French border.
