Installed an SWMotech KOBRA Handguard
on: June 20, 2013, 02:35:14 AM
The Kobra handguard arrived yesterday and had a fun little project last night. The handguard quality are good and looks awesome. I bought the optional LED light and will use it as a position light instead of a turn signal. The LED are bright and looks awesome at night (according to friends). The reason for the upgrades are mainly for the cosmetic looks, I just love the way it looks.

Here are some pics.

I think the KOBRA matches the crosstourer just fine.

At night, the spread position of the LED looks awesome. Just like the VFR1200F position LED light! But this one looks bright.

The steel bar should offer more than the standard.

I have to remove the original handguard mounting. Making the lever felt naked.

Looks neat from the rider seat. Ahh.. have to clean that smudge on the handlebar.

I'm gonna add a relay to this work. Have to made the LED turn off when I turn the turn signal on. For now it's a direct connection, power taken from the option loom that power my GPS.

I replaced the two little bulbs you have in orange, by 2 white led lights, after I changed the main light with a Xenon. The originals looked so stupid next of that super white light. The Kobra handguards look great. Where did you get them?

Would maybe even be better with the lights in the handguards permanent on ( eventually also a white light)

Ohhhh, I was to fast. From SW-Motech of course!!   :087:

I doubt you can get these handguards with white lights. But it would look very nice

Got the two led bulbs for free with my xenon.

Iso yellow light in the handguards, maybe blue flashing ones!... :-)

It would be great if the Kobra LED has white as options as well, but I think they design this to be a turn signal.

My opinion, a white LED surely will look nice on a white CT. Red, Black and Silver are best with amber.

The two OEM position bulb is the first thing I change on my CT. The original fades with the headlamp, some doesn't even noticed it's there.
