Hi, I'm Vincent from The Netherlands and will be posting under the nickname Cubinski. Started of on a Honda GL650, back in the days when a Silverwing looked like a miniature Goldwing

. Traded that in for a Suzuki GSX1100F which was unlucky for me; got into no less than 3 collisions, all caused by distracted car drivers. That kinda ruined the whole motorcycle thing for me and I didn't ride for at least a decade after that. Rented a big ass GS while on vacation in California in the spring of 2008 and got so excited about riding again that I bought a second hand red '01 Honda XL650V Transalp with less than 8.000 km on the clock.
Took Trannie all across Europe that summer, riding to the Black Sea coast in Bulgary, down to Istanbul, back up through Greece and along the Adriatic coast through pearls like Albany, Montenegro and Croatia. This got me even more excited and I started contemplating a RTW which I actually started in the summer of 2009. Flew the Transalp to Alaska, rode up to Deadhorse to dip my left toe in the Arctic Ocean and over 6 months rode the bike all the way down to Ushuaia through Central and South America to dip my other toe in the Beagle Channel. Put the bike in a crate in Buenos Aires and had it shipped back home.
And although it pains me to say goodbye to Trannie, I am very happy to have ordered a spanking new Crosstourer DCT last week which should be ready for delivery 1st week of July! Trannie will be left at the dealership and I trust they will find a very happy and loving new owner to give it many more k's on the road. The CT will of course be red, commemorating good 'ol Trannie the Transalp!
Looking forward to many happy years on the CT!
