Do you understand Politics?
on: May 22, 2013, 07:53:00 AM
When does a subject become political?

I don't know about you, but I wish I could understand politics better. An opinion on a subject doesn't have to be political, it can be purely factual without being influential, can't it?

Personally, I don't intentionally try to influence people, and don't think (in general) anyone on this forum does either. I do state my opinion on a subject, but that's not trying to politically influence an individuals decision - is it? Perhaps I should just say 'I like...' or 'I don't like...' a particular thing.

I believe everyone should be presented with unbiased facts, whatever they may be, and then decide for themselves. Nothing political there then, is there?

Have we become over-sensitized to potential 'political' issues?

Now I can't even remember what triggered this subject either  :087:

A hard thing to do, Doc, opinions are by definition biased, aren`t they? The usual disclaimer "In my humble opinion" is very handy, people can like or dislike. :031:

I hope the weather stays dry for you. Here it should be better this afternoon. Going for a ride with my son around 4 o'clock after he finishes work.

I'm watching YouTube videos of the Pyrenees at the moment - might head that way in August.
