The problem is that you will need to get a key sorted out.
What do you mean it's raining....get ootside and ride the thing.

Is the key usually the same as the bikes ignition key then?

It would seem so. If someone wants your panniers you either have to get spare key (without the HISS chip, or get a new key/lock system and get it fitted to suit the other persons key.........or at least that's what I'm reading in to it.

Both supplied keys are chipped :015:

I 'think' the internals of the lock barrel can be reset to any key by moving them about (they did it when i got a new topbox under warranty but i wasn't watching properly to give details) phone a dealer to confirm?

I know the OE keys are chipped...that's why you would need to get a spare key. I thought you only get a small key with the top box.

OEM luggage all use the ignition key  :305:
