Tank Bags
on: May 13, 2013, 04:12:19 PM
Hi Chaps

Can anyone recommend a tank bag for my CT? I don't want a large one, a smallish one will do. Must be secure, well made, and waterproof if that's possible? Oh, and easy enough to move when filling up with fuel.

I've just come back from 5 days in France with the girlfriend on the back - lovely weather and some great riding - and as you can imagine, before we departed, I found myself left with very little space to put my stuff in after all her kit and the kitchen sink were put in the Givi panniers....a tank bag (I've never had one before) would have made all the difference.

Appreciate any help / recommendations - thanks.

I have a Givi tank lock and used it for about 8'000 kms

It's nice to carry some accessories, a small camera etc. I used it also during quite heavy rain and it staid dry (inside ;-)).
The "quick lock system" is absolutely great.
Tthe bag does also not interfere when manoeuvring.

I got it as a birthday gift from my dealer when I signed the contract last year ;-)

I like the Givi tank lock idea and was considering it.  But fyi or anyone else considering tank bags, I found my old magnetic bag worked fine, so I'm sticking with this for now.

I haven't used it for the moment, but one month ago I bought the new Givi XS307 Tanklock. It looks nice and well made, and with the tanklock really easy to fit.
I'll use in in my next trip to the Eastern Europe.
It doesn’t matter the fast you go, but the far you arrive ...

I've got the Givi T491 tanlock Tank Bag. 17 Litre capacity so a useful size and easy to get on and off the 'Bike.

I too bought this one but you need to cover it with the supplied waterproof cover to keep the contents dry

I have this one and I love it. It fits perfectly and doesn't catch the bars on full lock.
You'll need the tank ring too and a bit of diy is involved to drill and mount the bag to it's base plate.
