Vagabond from Istanbul Turkey
on: April 29, 2013, 09:44:58 PM
Hi mates,

My name is Zafer Unden, 38 years old, married, have a 1 year old daughter named Nora.

I have been riding almost 12 years, I had several kinds of bikes but mostly I enjoyed a lot with enduro bikes.
I am earning my life either working as a Project manager and also I am a riding instructor and giving defensive riding techniques.
I found this web site by chance while I was surfing to find out some accessories for my CT.
If anyone of you come to istanbul Turkey, please let me know, you will be my quest....

 :400:  to the Crosstourer Forum.

You are now the second forum member from Istanbul - Eltar is on here too.

All you need to know about your CT will be on here, or we have the members who know how to find what you need.

I think my son and I will be heading your way in 3 or 4 years time. When we do, we'll pop in to say hello.

Cheers,
Doc

My son gets a bigger bike next year - he has a Honda NC700S now, but wants a triumph Tiger 800XC or the new Honda Africa Twin if it comes out next year.

As soon as he has a bigger bike we will be travelling a lot. So maybe we will be there sooner - we'll see - but thanks for the invite.

Cheers,
Doc

It is, but he's young and wants a bigger bike - plus when I overtake, and he sees how quick the CT is, he wants a quicker bike too - understandable.

The NC700S is a very nice bike, but even after dropping a gear, it's not 'quick'. After 31st March next year he can move on from 48PS to unlimited, but for insurance purposes, under 98PS makes sense - so the Tiger 800XC at 95PS is a good choice. He is tall and the 'endure-type' bike would suit him better - he just can't afford a CT - the Tiger 800XC is about €9,500 here, the CT €15,000.

We want to do long tours together, so when loaded up the bike will much heavier too. His motto will be Tent, Tiger, Ta-ra!

Merhaba Zafer Bey,

So you are the riding instructor Ilkan told me about.  :400:, the forum is lively and you can most probably find out about anything you can want. There are 2 other Turkish members that I can recall (at the very least, maybe I missed someone during my absence).

I wanted to contact you after talking with Ilkan, well here you are anyway.

And thetrecker, good sir, that "Youngest Member Oscar" went to me last year iirc, being 32. Turning 33 this month, anyone here to beat that?
