Sauerland - 1st Tour of 2013
on: April 29, 2013, 01:23:00 PM
Well, Friday sees the first tour of 2013 starting - a little weekend ride into the Sauerland with my son and 11 other mates from work.

As always, the CT will be at the front guiding the way and dictating the pace.

I've planned a nice little route (329km) to the hotel, and a 282km tour for Saturday taking in the Mohne Dam - my grandad visited with 617 a few years ago - but now it's been fixed - I always pull their leg (my German mates) about them making a good job of the repairs  :164:

I think after 12 years of my jokes, they're getting the English sense of humour at last - or they might just be tolerating me  :084:

Hopefully the weather will play ball. Whatever the weather, it will be a good laugh - and a few beers will be consumed  :821:

Well I really hope the weather over there is good for you...

Because I will be just down the road in Winterspelt :046:

Well the forecast is 13-15°C, with sun and cloud. It'll have to do - at least it will be dry  :305:

Thats what really matters.

Bloody shame our paths don't cross but I am only getting to Winterspelt on Friday afternoon and then leaving around Saturday lunchtime.

No, we are just having a couple of days around the border because I have a new bike.

If I had known that others were also around I would have made it 3 or 4 days. We should be at Winterspelt by mid afternoon on Firdiay, then we will have a little ride North or North East for maybe 100km on Friday afternoon, then back to the hotel. Another little ride on Saturday morning and then back off to Calais.
