ACF-50 corrosion inhibitor
on: April 02, 2013, 06:33:19 PM
I was advised to try ACF-50 as a method of protecting the metal parts from corrosion. I understand it is used to prevent corrosion to all metals to aircraft on carriers when they are subjected salty spray.
It costs about £15 on ebay but a little goes a long way just spray it onto a cloth and wipe it over any metal you wish to protect - basically everywhere apart from brake surfaces.
Previously used WD-40, duck oil and Scottoil protector, I have been applying it since getting the bike a month ago and its been exposed to UK's salty roads, have to see how it looks in a year or so.

Used it for a good few years now, it even stopped corrosion that had started in my old GS.

Cover the bike during winter with it, repeat if necessary, and clean off in the spring. Keeps the bike looking new  :152:
