Givi topbox advice and opinions please
on: March 16, 2013, 01:29:01 PM
I'm after a new topbox for the CT. It only needs to be large enough to carry my flip-up Neotech lid and the wifes Scorpion full face lid. According to the Givi website the 46 litre Trekker can carry 2 flip-up lids as can the 47 litre Maxias but have any of you guys used any of these topboxes and can confirm it? I'd rather get as small a case as possible than get one that's the size of a garden shed but then again i dont want to have to squeeze the lids in and have to prize them out with a crowbar  :016:

Any advice or info on any of them would be welcome.

I have the 46L topbox and I cannot see 2 helmets fitting in there, I have a full face helmet, raid 2 and that is tight sometimes, depends which way I put it in !
The website says that the 46L can carry a flip-up and an open face, the 52L will carry 2 flip-up's.
Good quality boxes though.

Telbert:
NO WAY will a Givi 46L Top Box accomodate TWO lids.
I have a 46L Trekker and a Shoei Multitec and that only just goes in, there is NO way at all that it could take two lids.

Go for the 55L for a 2 lid - Maybe - but that is as you so aptly put it - is - The size of a garden shed.
Unless of course anyone else has a differing opinion.

Keep it on the Black Stuff or Dirt - BUT - Rubber Side Down.  Else it hurts!

i have a GIVI V46 topbox and it can take 2 full face Arai helmets, don't know if the flip ups need a bit more room as I have never owned one

Might be worth a look but the Trekker certainly suits the style of the bike.

Can I suggest you take both your helmets into your local Honda dealer and try them in the ST1300 top box.
I can store two XR1000 full face or 2 C3 flip front vertical with no problem. If the shell on your helmet is larger than a C3 remove the carpet from the floor of the box, turn both helmets on their side, base to base with the visor towards the front, they should fit then.
This box is a neat compact unit that looks good on the CT. It’s made by Givi for Honda and if you find any ingress of water then the Ferry has probably sunk.

I use a Givi E55 which I kept from the last bike , it does hold 2 helmets easily but it certainly isn't sleek  and probably doesn't help high speed stability.

Obviously size of my head must be whats wrong ! as only one (my) helmet would fit in mine  :002:

Hi,

I have the Givi 52L top box. Enough room for my Shoei Neotech and a Nolan helmet. Both are flipup's.
There is even room for my gloves.

Grtz,
Luc
