I love talking about nothing. It is the only thing I know anything about.

Reckon I am getting close to 50mpg but that is not riding it to the limiter, more touring speeds of 80 ish, reckon can get the 220 miles per tank but the computer flat lines after it shows less than 20 miles remaining in the tank so never really worked out what I am getting.

Chap I go out with has an Explorer and he normally is the first to indicate he needs petrol.

IMHO there are two groups that the big adventure bikes fit into. The first group are those that can do dust road and offroad well, these are the GS, S10 and KTM
Then you have the second group that do tar well, Like the Honda CT, duke, and so forth.
It is a fact that 97% of the people who own bikes in the first group have never seen a dust road or even off road on their bikes. True story. It's also true that with will and skill you can take any bike anywhere.

For me the CT was the best of group two although it scored some points in group one. It suited me the best. That's why I choose it.

I’m not sure many members on this site would have chosen the Crosstourer after reading the reports and comparisons the bike magazines published last year.
I think most of us used the information gained from more than one assessment ride and made a judgment from that.

Me, I was buying the bike before I set eyes on it, having test ridden the VFR1200 a couple of times I was sold on the road train, problem was my body wasn’t.
My thinking was If I couldn’t have the VFR I would have the next best thing. Turns out it wasn’t, the Crosstourer is a better bike with a more usable power plant.
