Givi V35 and Bracket
on: February 24, 2013, 04:44:12 PM
Does anyone have the V35 cases fitted with the bracket below?
It looks like they are using the original Honda mounting slots...

Just checked their website again, and downloaded the pdf file - they use the original holders -  :062:

Looks like I might have found some side cases for me at last  :152:

Hi Vrom,
The cases look good. Do you have the close-fitting brackets that fit the original CT holders?
How wide is the bike when they're fitted?

Cheers,
Doc

Have to agree, that’s the best looking panniers I have seen so far, prefer the streamline look to that of the shipping containers bolted to the side of the bike.
When I fitted the E21 panniers to the CT I used the same type of Q/R Givi rack but specified it to take the Trekker box. It came with straight sides and not curved as shown in the photo.

It's easy to fit with half a dozen Q/R turn bucklesand a strip of tape to protect the paintwork. The rack has hole that I assume is for either a padlock or a bolt and I would suggest you stick something in it to stop some bugger with a turn buckle key coming along an nicking your rack.

What's the overall width with the V35?

Just went out to the garage for a measurment (through the freakin' snow that aparently will never stop  :190: :151:)

The width is 98 cm or 38,6 inch with the cases mounted. They are mounted on the close-fitting brackets because there's simply no other way of fitting them since the back of the cases is curved.
Removing the brackets takes less than a minute.
I chose the V35 because the oem cases are way too expensive en because I think these look better (and so does everyone else who sees the bike in real life)

Meanwhile the oem "fog light mount"  :157: is replaced by proper Givi crashbars. Painted the stock fog lights black to match. Looks great !
I'll post some pics once this damn weather turns  :002:

Totally agree with you ,Vrom, these are good looking cases and even more so with the colourede trim pieces. In fact it was the picture of your bike (?) sometime ago that promped me to buy them .. The useable interior space is much better than the BMW Varios that I previously had ... Bye the way ,Doc, the carrier frame is specific to this case( V 35 series). and although it uses the Givi monokey locking system  you could not change to the Treckers etc as they  will not fit on this rack.  These cases ,though ,do work ( Look) well with a Trecker as a top box! .. If you buy a pair there is a spare lock included so you can change the lock on any other givi box you may already be using....Finally if you get the inner bags they are fully fitted and use all the space available!.....
