What was your bike before the CT?
on: January 10, 2013, 07:55:28 PM
Just wondering what bike you had before the CT, and why you changed.

I got my CT last April after 8 years on 3 different ST1300's, and from 1998 until 2004 I had 3 different VFR800's.

The progression from the VFR to the PAN was for comfort reasons, and the change to the CT from the PAN was because of DCT and a lighter, faster-to-ride bike (got that!) - but still with comfort. The only thing I miss about the PAN is the screen.

...and my next bike might be the new VFR1200T with DCT - if Honda ever decide to sell it!

Did I mention that I love Honda V4's!  :169:

Aprilia Caponord Rally Raid, had it for 9 years from new (was a demonstrator) really loved it and waited for its replacement (just launched now,on sale next year) but Aprilia were far too slow and too busy launching supermoto style bikes for the home market to worry about the biggest selling Adventure market and their sales and spares backup is the worst in the world. Still loved the bike and it never let me down. It came kitted as standard with alm panniers, centre stand, power outlet, road AND off road tyres, Full adjust Sachs suspension, rack, spoke rims, Real crash bars, fab headlights, most of the things I had to buy for the CT ...

BMW R1200GS and 1150 before that.

Changed due to no longer trusting BMW build quality and was hooked with the V4 and comfort of the CT  :305:

My first bike was a Yamaha XT600 (3 years)
Then I got a Honda Transalp 600 (8 years)
Then a Honda Varadero (nearly 10years)
And finally the CrossTourer  :305:

I don't change a lot, and always "trail" motorbikes ...
It doesn’t matter the fast you go, but the far you arrive ...
