Rattle from Clutch when Idling in Neutral
on:
December 04, 2012, 05:22:18 AM
Another issue I noticed today is a stronger than I would like rattle from the clutch when sitting in neutral (say at a set of lights). I know that clutches rattle when there is no load on them. In mine seems pretty damn loud and I can feel it through the whole bike.
If you pull the clutch in sligghtly, when in nuetral the rattle subsides.
Anyone else?

Should be no rattle at all AK, clutch immersed in oil so can't really rattle unless something is loose, sounds like a problem and should be checked out. The only clutch rattle on a bike should be an old Ducati where there is a dry clutch fitted and its normal

Mine has 6k on it now and has a slight basket rattle but as both my Africa Twin and Varadero both have the same I just put it down to Honda.
It's nothing like a Ducati dry clutch, just a bit of a rattle which seems to be normal for a Honda.

Mine's over 3,000 now and there's no rattle, but you can feel a very slight vibration through the bars which goes away in you pull the clutch in.
