Nickel has joined but has no CT (yet)
« on: August 24, 2012, 10:02:53 AM »
Hi folks, little introduction.
I'm from Belgium, West Flanders. I drive a Honda Deauville 700 for the moment, normally the last year (fiscal reasons) so already looking for something else. I must say i like the crosstourer and also the triumph explorer. So i'm still hesitating wich direction to go. Only tried the Crostourer yet, and, indeed, very nice bike.
I have always driven Honda, first CB400n, the VF750F and then 18 years without a motorcycle (house, kids etc etc etc...) Now restarted 4,5 years ago with a new deauville 700 who has 67000 km for the moment.
Hope to learn a lot from your experiences.
PS my wife also rides a bike  :152:, 3 years on a deauville 650 and now 1,5 year on a yama fazer 600 S2.
Grtz

Hi,

Welcome!
I am also present on this forum for the same reason. But my mind is made up, I'll definitely switch to the Crosstourer. Probably September / October this year.
And hey, I also live in West-Flanders (Bruges).

Groetjes,
Luc

Thx, i probably will have to wait till after new year  :019: . Maybe some advantages from honda with the Salon in Brussels, you never know  :152:? Otherwise as a late new years present, but still not made up my mind, will go for a test drive on the explorer also. I know somebody on a another forum who is very satisfied with his Explorer  :087:

Welcome to the forum. I currently run both a 700 Deauville and a Crosstourer (two extremes). I traded up to the CT from a 700 Transalp - same engine as the Deauville, but wearing 'adventure' clothing. Need I say that you will notice the difference - twice the cyclinders, twice the capacity, twice the BHP. The CT is like the Transalp, but with shaft drive, tubeless tyres, and the little matter of that V4 motor. We needed something with a bit more 'go' for two-up touring and the choice was to 'up' the Deauville to a Pan European, or 'up' the Transalp to the CT.The Pan is just too heavy at my time of life, so we chose the Crosstourer. Fantastic bike.Goes like a rocket - steers like a train.Plus - Honda quality and reliability.I'm keeping the Deauville though - lovely bike, and vastly under-rated, especially in the UK. I can't explain the difference between the two in words - get a test-ride and see for yourself.

Hi Nikel, you should definitely go the CT route...you've probably seen a few postings with comments from a number of us on why.

Welcome on board!
