Hepco and Becker Aluminium Panniers
« on: July 17, 2012, 10:19:23 PM »

Hepco and Becker Panniers - fitted Saturday and look fine. Much better quality than the Honda OEM kit.
I've had them for a number of years and just buy a new frame kit when i change bikes.
Fitting kit was very tricky. To save you learning the hard way - pull out the plastic cover for the rectifier and release the two 10mm bolts.
Then drop the rectifier out of the way to reach the footpeg casting bolts. This is very tight and difficult to do.
Its mentioned in the instructions but only as a foot note - so it took me a while to cotton on.
No need to remove the battery although i did - it made the rectifier refitting easier - so maybe on balance you should do so too.
Finger nails and grazed hands later brackets in place.
Everthing else was plain sailing. Had to re drill the number plate area of the bike to fit the cross plate and refix the number plate of course.
On the road despite their brick like aerodynamics - they havn't effected the handling at all at any speeds i've travelled at.
Fast pace touring.
