Where to buy genuine Accessories?
« on: June 02, 2012, 08:52:58 AM »
Is anyone aware of an online vendor for the honda accessories?

I want to buy the top box / pannier set, touring screen, led lights, cowl bar, heated grips, main stand, wiring loom for lights / grips.

http://www.honda-access.com/268/en/intro.jsp is a great resource for the part numbers - but where to buy?

here in NZ honda wants NZ$8,000+ for all the parts I mentioned

Well, I also checked for an online dealer, but couldn't find any. In Turkey, 2 of the items prices are not listed/priced yet (led lights and wiring loom), but considering the rest, NZ prices seem to be quiet higher than what we have here (and mind you, usually Turkish prices are somewhat above EU).

I think your best bet might be getting in touch with an AU dealer and checking their prices. Or, parting with 8k NZ$...

You'll probably find that genuine accessories are only available from Honda dealers which means it's going to be a bit of a closed shop.

I would imagine though they've got at least a 30% margin on accessories so I think there's a fair bit of room for a good haggle on a sizeable order like yours. Fight hard and I bet you could get 20% off if you really try, providing you don't want to pay by amex of course and use a debit card or cash.

PS. I'd give the touring screen a miss if I were you :164:

........and the Honda top box (zipper) lets in water when riding in the rain. Dealer reckons a recall is on the cards.....eventually. :430:

I am only aware of genuine Honda accessories being available from the Honda Importer, who usually only deliver to their dealer network. I get about 15-20% from my dealer, but I have bought a lot of bikes from him (15).

Are genuine accessories always the best?
