Explorer owners - bike has problems!
« on: May 28, 2012, 09:54:22 PM »
It looks like the Triumph Explorer is having a few problems, described here by their owners:

http://www.tiger-explorer.com/index.php/topic,1813.0.html

One of the owners has swapped his Explorer in for a Crosstourer - wise man.

So, if you're an Explorer owner, feel free to do this... :157:

Either Explorer owners are being too critical, or are more honest than you guys (owners of CT) (insert trollface  :007: ).

So far, the only major issue, if it can be called that, was the front suspension vibration / rattling, and iirc, that has been taken care of already, with a minimum effort. Am I missing anything?

With no disrespect to any bike brand, esp a major one like Triumph: Honda has become Honda for a reason. For me, that is an undeniable fact. Some may like one more than the other; each to his own. But I wont even consider anything besides CT unless one of you comes here telling us "guys my bike was broken in half while I was riding at 70, for no other reason than the wind blowing 15% stronger than usual" or some stuff like that  :001: .

Back on topic: It is worth mentioning that quite a number of Explorer owners have started talking about their issues after the inital post. Interesting read, thanx for sharing it Doc. It reinforced my faith in Honda (not that I was lacking any).

Mmmmm, interesting.....
Had a dealer try to get me to buy an Explorer rather than the CT, but I'm a Honda man....  :152:

Apart from the steering head bearing 'irritation' I have heard of no issues with the CT at all.
