Hi Ralentino - I am still thinking and feeling this through at the moment as on one hand I am used to the suspension setting on my XR400 dirt bike and on the road my 900 Hornet was setup for speed ... the CT is for me the new hybrid of these two I have decided to do another 1000km over a variety of surfaces that I am used to on the other bikes and then have a session with my mechanic describing what I felt and what I think I want to feel as suspension settings is a blak art as far as I am concerned.
Let me know what you do, why and what the outcome was - keen to hear.
Thanks ... Jacob  :018:

Right had a play last night with settings :087:
I left Front Preload on 4th groove which is standard for the Dct (The manual bike is 5th groove)
Front Rebound standard setting is 6 clicks from max setting  for Dct, I changed mine to 8 clicks from std setting (manual bike std is 7)
Rear Preload -mine was wrong from crate was set at 7 which is the manual bike setting changed to 9 which is standard for dct
Rear Rebound std for manual bike is 3/8 turns from hardest setting , Dct is 7/8 turns from hardest
mine was way out :005: was 2/8 turns from hardest setting :005: which explains why bike was so hard :230:
changed to 7/8 turns which is standard and has transformed bike over bumps
Did 417 miles today :152: bike is awesome now have 604 miles on her and ready for 1st service on Wednesday :305: :821:

Thanks, interesting info Mr. Vossi  :062: I think I should play more with the settings - too - test it out and learn about it.

Having not yet got my bike i don't have the manual to refer to so could you clarify that when for example you say "Dct is 7/8 turns from hardest" you mean that you adjust clockwise gently to the stopper then go anticlockwise by 7/8ths of one turn (less than one full turn of the adjuster)
or are you counting the 'clicks'?

Is there an online manual available anywhere to download for the DCT bike?

Thanks, Ian

VFRX here - 90kgs

I am going to try (for the street) a little harder than standard across the board so:

front:
preload  ~ 4 grooves/rings (standard being 5)
rebound ~ 6 clicks from hardest (standard being 7)

rear:
preload  ~ 9 clicks from the minimum
rebound ~ 7/8 Th's of one turn from the max setting

these are now the settings that the VFRXD has as standard

I am hopeless at suspension so if anyone else is too and would like to not feel silly then I could post pics of the adjusting I have done and be picked on - yep I'll take one for the team, think of it as initiation  :033:
